“Wait—are you asking me to be your girlfriend?”

He shot her a glance, eyebrow arched. “I thought I was. You didn’t get that from what I said?”

Chloe’s belly churned with nerves. Not because she didn’t want to be his girlfriend, but because it all seemed too good to be true. “I mean it sounded like it, sure, but I want to be certain I understand you.”

“You understood. You and me, exclusive. Dating. Sex is up to you, but I won’t push for it.”
